Have you found yourself wondering what the next phase of your life is going to look like? If you’re like me it’s a question you’ve had, not only with yourself, but, most likely with close friends and family too. Have you discovered what brings you joy?
Welcome to Finding Your Joy, a lifestyle blog dedicated to helping you discover happiness and fulfillment in your life. I firmly believe that we can discover joy in both the everyday moments, the activities that genuinely make us happy, as well as in the grand experiences.
As life transitions into a new phase, whether that means you’re nearing retirement, becoming an empty nester, or simply looking for a fresh perspective this blog is for you! Furthermore, as someone who has spent the last 30 years developing a wonderful career, I didn’t find much time for myself or, consequently, for developing hobbies to fill whatever spare time I had. Finding Your Joy is all about embracing this perspective and uncovering the happiness that exists within each one of us.
The dragonfly in the logo is an important image tied to Finding Your Joy. Dragonflies are symbolic for many cultures. In Native American culture they symbolize joy and happiness. This association is a reminder of the importance of living in the moment and cherishing the moments that bring joy and happiness to our lives.
Embracing Change and Discovering Happiness
Our lives are filled with transitions, and as we enter new phases it’s natural to question what’s next. The idea for Finding Your Joy came to me after having many conversations with my girlfriends. We had all spent the last 30 years growing careers, or raising kids, or often…doing both. As a result, we hadn’t spent much time on ouselves.
The common theme was that our husbands all had numerous hobbies, while none of us could recall having even one. We collectively decided our short-lived scrapbooking phase didn’t count!
This blog is about finding what brings you joy. Join me as we delve into a variety of topics ranging from skincare (one of my faves!), travel (who doesn’t LOVE to travel?) and fun lifestyle topics…think cool dinner party ideas.
